Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

A structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy. It may help you to change unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking, feeling and behaving. CBT uses practical self-help strategies. These are designed to immediately improve your quality of life. CBT can be an effective way to treat depression and anxiety.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) is an empirically supported psychotherapy that offers promise for patients suffering from a wide range of mental and physical conditions, while addressing these gaps and challenges in the field

Services & Fees

Stefanie provides services under the following funding sources:

Medicare:

If you have a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a Referral from your GP, you are eligible to access up to 10 Medicare rebate sessions in a calendar year. The current Medicare rebate for psychologists is $93.35. At the end of each session, the full fee of $180 (50-minute session) will be charged to the card you provide, after which the Medicare rebate will be processed and reimbursed to your nominated bank account.

Stefanie does not offer bulk-billing. If you do experience financial hardship, a reduced fee may be offered. Please enquire within.

NDIS:

Fees for psychology services are in line with the current NDIS Price Guidelines with no gap fees payable by you.

For Plan Managed clients, please provide details of your plan manager and we will send invoices directly to them after your session.

For Self-Managed clients, the session fee will be deducted from the card provided after each session and a paid invoice will be emailed to you to claim the full cost of the session back from the NDIS.

Workers Compensation and CTP insurance:

For insurance claims, please provide your claim number to allow for an initial intake and assessment session, after which we will provide a request to your insurance company for reasonable and necessary treatment to commence. Fees are in line with the current price guidelines set by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA). Invoices will be sent directly to your insurance company and there are no gap fees payable by you.

Paying for sessions privately:

You are welcome to pay privately. The cost of a 50-minute session is $180. Payments will be deducted from your nominated card after each session. If you experience financial hardship or hold a pension or concession card, please contact Stefanie to enquire about options for reduced fees.

If you hold private health insurance with extra cover that includes psychological services, you may be able to claim a rebate from your insurer. Please check with your health insurance.

At present, Stefanie does not provide services under Open Arms, DVA or EAP.

Cancellation Policy

A full fee may be charged for all 'No Shows' or for cancellations received less than 48 business hours prior to the appointment. Please make every effort to notify the practice if you are unable to attend an appointment to provide other people the opportunity to be seen.
